WILCO AG wins prestigious ISPE Robotics Applications of the Year Award for EVO CAX

We are proud to announce that we have been awarded the ISPE Robotics Applications of the Year Award in the Fill & Finish category for our innovative machine, EVO CAX, designed for human-inspired robotic visual inspection. This recognition underscores our commitment to advancing robotics technologies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors.

The ISPE Robotics Applications of the Year Awards (RAYA) is a new annual program designed to highlight innovative applications of robotics in laboratories and production sites. By fostering the adoption of modern robotics, the program aims to enhance workplace ergonomics, automate repetitive tasks, and ultimately improve the efficiency and quality of operations across various sectors, including QC Laboratories, R&D, and MedTech.

Transforming the Industry: EVO CAX for human-like robotic inspection tasks

Pharmaceutical manufacturers have long faced challenges in high-mix, low-volume production settings. Clinical and small-scale operations demand high flexibility for product turnover, and the intervals between batches can be particularly challenging for human operators. The EVO CAX effectively addresses these issues by delivering a human-like robotic handling on a smallest possible footprint.

For maximum flexibility, the system allows for quick and easy format changes and rapid recipe development cycles enable the EVO CAX to adapt swiftly to new products. A single operator can run up to four systems, creating a scalable production fleet tailored to meet throughput needs. The EVO CAX is versatile for various product lifecycle phases, from clinical to inline production, for eject reinspection, and remains effective through the product‘s end-of-life phase when batch sizes decrease.

Looking Ahead

At its core, EVO CAX exemplifies the mission of RAYA by showing how modern robotics can elevate operational capabilities. We are excited to be at the forefront of this transformative journey and are ready to continue developing solutions that push the boundaries of what robotics can achieve.

We extend our gratitude to ISPE for this honor, and we look forward to continuing to innovate and contribute to the future of automated technology in laboratories and production environments.
